Icy Outhouse

Now that the days are getting longer and warmer, I'm finally ready to take a look at some of my photographs from December's crazy ice storm.

This is a photograph of the outhouse next door. I'm told there used to be a house on the lot, but it was lost to a fire years ago. The outhouse is no longer in use, to my knowledge, but it's an interesting little building.

The ice storm, if you weren't around for it, covered *everything* with a layer of ice. We lost power for a few days. It was a hassle, but it was certainly gorgeous.

Love your blog! I'd sure hate to have to use that outhouse during an ice storm! I'd have never made it as a pioneer. Jo :)

No, that would have been a chilly experience. Luckily, we still had plumbing, even when the power went out. :)

This is great. Reminds me of something mystical as if you would enter the door and be in another world. Get my drift?

wow! that is a really beautiful shot! I remember one ice storm from when i was a kid back in rochester NY and it was just the same. ice covering every last inch of everything! Beautiful and we didn't have school for a week, it was awesome!

That is a beautiful photo I had no idea what it was until I read the post. I see a lot of ice here where I live and that picture definaely captures the magic of the ice.
see you in the etsy forums!

WOW! That outhouse is so nifty. I never knew they made them so ornately...I mean...it's an out house. I could see why this one would be called a throne though! lol
